You can spend a year following AI news and still miss the person who can help with your project. I would use Europe's 2027 events to find that person.
The trick is choosing the right conversation: language models in Athens, data architecture in Warsaw or industrial systems in Munich. Here are eight European AI events I would shortlist, with a different job for each.
1. AI & Big Data Expo Global 2027
3-4 FEBRUARY 2027 | LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
Start in London if you need to compare enterprise AI priorities across suppliers and industries. The expo covers generative AI, governance, data and infrastructure, so I would arrive with a defined buying or implementation question. If you work in hospitality, pair it with my hotel technology events guide.

2. EACL 2027
9-14 MARCH 2027 | ATHENS, GREECE
Language models deserve a specialist conversation. EACL brings natural language processing researchers and practitioners to Athens, with an industry track and a student research workshop among its advertised calls. I would come with questions about evaluation, multilingual performance or the gap between a benchmark and your application.
3. Data & AI Warsaw Tech Summit 2027
21-22 APRIL 2027 | WARSAW, POLAND & ONLINE
Data architecture and AI engineering meet here, with agentic AI also in scope. I would choose Warsaw if your project needs better foundations for collecting, moving and using data.
21 April offers in-person and online attendance, while 22 April is online only. If you work in mobility, my transport analytics events guide connects these questions with operational applications.

4. Machine Learning Prague 2027
3-5 MAY 2027 | PRAGUE, CZECHIA & ONLINE
Prague is the practical learning stop on this list. Its three-day format combines talks and workshops on machine learning and AI applications, with participation in person or online. I would pick a workshop that teaches a method you can try on a current project.
5. Rise of AI Conference 2027
12 MAY 2027 | BERLIN, GERMANY & ONLINE
Choose Berlin when your decisions depend on Europe's AI industry and policy landscape. Rise of AI connects business, research, investment and entrepreneurship around topics including infrastructure, industrial adoption and technological sovereignty.
I would prepare questions about the partnerships and capabilities your organisation needs over the next two years. Selected sessions will be streamed online.
6. AI in Production 2027
10-11 JUNE 2027 | NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, UNITED KINGDOM
If your model is already serving users, Newcastle deserves attention. AI in Production focuses on deployment, monitoring, observability and responsible AI, with workshops followed by conference talks. I would bring an operational incident and ask how others would diagnose it and prevent a repeat.

7. automatica 2027
22-25 JUNE 2027 | MUNICH, GERMANY
Munich is where I would take questions about AI working with physical equipment. automatica combines robotics, machine vision and industrial automation in an exhibition setting. Ask exhibitors how their solutions fit your production line, what maintenance involves and how they handle an unfamiliar situation.
8. ECAI 2027
2-7 OCTOBER 2027 | ATHENS, GREECE
ECAI gives you a broad AI research meeting to close this shortlist. Pre-conference workshops, tutorials and the Doctoral Consortium run on 2-3 October, with the main conference on 4-7 October. I would use Athens to explore how your specialism connects to adjacent fields and find potential collaborators.
Where I would start in your shoes
For PhD students, I would investigate EACL's student workshop for language research or ECAI's Doctoral Consortium for broader AI work. Data scientists should look at Machine Learning Prague, and data engineers at Warsaw.
For senior engineers responsible for live systems, choose AI in Production. Manufacturing teams should prioritise automatica, while AI leaders can use London for enterprise comparisons and Rise of AI for strategic relationships.
If you can attend only two, pair a technical learning event with one that introduces you to buyers, operators or partners. I would leave time in your calendar to test what you learn.
