Just searching Google to find the biggest AI event in Europe or the US is a beginners approach.
A research paper, AI application development or an AI systems procurement decision each need a different conversation.
I would build your 2027 AI events attendance shortlist around these differences.
These six US and European events give you routes into supplier comparison, commercial adoption, data infrastructure, engineering and research, with a clear reason to choose each one.
Compare six AI events before choosing your trip
| Event | 2027 dates | City and format | Who I would send | Useful outcome | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI & Big Data Expo Global | 3–4 February | London, UK; in person | Enterprise buyers and technical leads | Compare suppliers across AI and data | Free and Gold tracks have different access |
| The AI Summit London | 9–10 June | London, UK; in person | AI programme owners and business leaders | Test the commercial case for adoption | 2027 programme details still developing |
| Data + AI Summit | 21–24 June | San Francisco, US; in person + virtual | Data engineers and platform teams | Connect AI applications with their data foundations | Databricks ecosystem shapes the discussion |
| AI Engineer World’s Fair | 29 June–1 July | San Francisco, US; in person | AI engineers and technical founders | Explore implementation approaches and tools | Detailed 2027 tracks and tickets pending |
| ECAI | 2–7 October | Athens, Greece; in person | Researchers and doctoral students | Discuss methods, papers and applications | Research participation has separate calls |
| The AI Summit New York | 8–9 December | New York, US; in person | Enterprise leaders and product owners | Explore commercial AI adoption | Series confirms dates; main site still promotes 2026 |
Dates and advertised formats were checked against organiser pages on 24 October 2026. The professional matches are my recommendations; programme maturity varies across this selective shortlist.
If two events look equally useful, use my AI conference selection guide to judge the fit. Here, I would start by comparing their audiences and practical purpose.
1. AI & Big Data Expo Global: compare the supplier answers
3–4 FEBRUARY 2027 | LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
The official AI & Big Data Expo Global agenda separates free sessions from Gold tracks and covers enterprise AI, data, builders and production questions. That makes the Olympia event useful when you need to explore several approaches before narrowing a supplier shortlist.
Bring the same deployment scenario to competing exhibitors, including your workload and acceptance criteria. Ask about integration and operating responsibility, then compare their answers.
I would choose this when you need to compare implementation options. Check your pass against specific sessions; exhibition access does not establish access to every track.
2. The AI Summit London: give the business case a harder test
9–10 JUNE 2027 | LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
The AI Summit London organiser page confirms Tobacco Dock and the June dates, with registration of interest for 2027. Its commercial AI focus makes it a candidate for leaders who need to connect technical capability with an operating decision.
Compared with February’s expo, I would use this trip to investigate adoption: process ownership, success measures and changes to people’s work. Ask for the baseline behind claimed improvements, including extra review effort.
The constraint is programme certainty: the page still includes previous-edition highlights. I would wait for the relevant 2027 sessions and access rules before treating training, buyer meetings or a named speaker as a reason to book.
3. Data + AI Summit: inspect what sits beneath the application
21–24 JUNE 2027 | SAN FRANCISCO, UNITED STATES + VIRTUAL
Databricks confirms San Francisco and virtual access on the Data + AI Summit website. I would shortlist it for data engineers and platform teams whose AI problems involve the information feeding the system as much as the model itself.
Bring a diagram of your data sources, access permissions and application. Ask how a proposed approach handles stale records and failures that cross team boundaries.
I would prioritise this over World’s Fair when data infrastructure is the bottleneck. Test recommendations against your architecture, account for the Databricks context, and check the virtual programme’s inclusions.
4. AI Engineer World’s Fair: take the implementation problem with you
29 JUNE–1 JULY 2027 | SAN FRANCISCO, UNITED STATES
The official World’s Fair 2027 announcement confirms Moscone West, technical content, workshops and an AI tools expo. Detailed tracks, speakers and tickets are still to be announced, so the promised format is firmer than any individual session.
I would send engineers and technical founders with a specific failure to discuss. An application struggling with messy inputs gives you a stronger conversation starter than asking for someone’s favourite model.
Data + AI Summit ends on 24 June, and World’s Fair starts on 29 June. That leaves four intervening calendar days; justify the extra accommodation and time with separate objectives.
Pro Tip: make the two conferences compete for your budget
Write one result you need from each event before buying either ticket. If both entries say “learn about AI”, choose one and use the saved travel time to test what you learned; a second trip needs a second purpose.
5. ECAI: put your method in front of a research community
2–7 OCTOBER 2027 | ATHENS, GREECE
The ECAI 2027 programme outline separates pre-conference activities on 2–3 October from the main conference on 4–7 October. Workshops, tutorials and the Doctoral Consortium are planned at the School of Science–NKUA, with the main conference at Megaron.
This is where I would start for broad AI research exchange, especially when you need people to challenge the assumptions behind a method. The planned technical papers and application activities offer a different kind of scrutiny from supplier demonstrations.
Check separate calls if you want to present work or join a doctoral activity. Choose travel dates around the activities you can access; general attendance does not establish eligibility for every opportunity.
6. The AI Summit New York: connect the technical proposal to its owner
8–9 DECEMBER 2027 | NEW YORK, UNITED STATES
The organiser’s AI Summit series calendar confirms the December 2027 dates at Javits Convention Center. The main New York site still promotes the 2026 edition, so I would use the series announcement for planning and wait for edition-specific programme details.
For an enterprise AI leader, I would compare New York with London according to the customers, operating teams and decision-makers you need to reach. Sharing a series brand does not establish that the same people or sessions will be available in both cities.
Bring a decision that needs a sponsor. Ask what evidence would justify moving beyond a pilot, who approves the change and who carries the support cost.
Use the regional guide when geography decides the shortlist
For more American options, use my US AI events guide. I would widen the search there if these San Francisco and New York choices miss your specialism or require too much travel.
If you are staying in Europe, compare the alternatives in my European AI events guide. The useful comparison is the relevant professional community within reach, rather than the total number of events on either continent.
Check the full cost before committing
A conference pass is only one part of the decision; accommodation, travel and time away can change the shortlist. If financial support determines whether you can attend, use my AI conference funding guide to compare eligible costs and payment timing before relying on an award.
Confirm that the pass includes your intended activities. Where 2027 ticket details are pending, keep the event on a planning shortlist and wait for current prices.
Which event would I choose for your role?
For enterprise buyers comparing products, I would start with AI & Big Data Expo Global. For programme leaders making an adoption case, I would compare The AI Summit London with New York and choose the location where relevant business conversations are practical.
For data engineers and platform owners, I would prioritise Data + AI Summit. For application engineers and technical founders, I would lean toward World’s Fair once its detailed programme supports the implementation question you need to resolve.
For researchers and doctoral students seeking a broad European AI community, I would start with ECAI. If your research trip needs to be in America, use my US AI events guide for PhD students to find a community closer to your dissertation topic.
